Does The Garden Of Eden Still Exist?

The biblical destination known as the Garden Of Eden has always been one of the most unique mysteries in the bible. Not only is it considered the starting point for man-kind, but it’s divine attributes have sent many on long and lengthy journey to uncover it’s truths. Many have become frustrated even wondering if it has ever existed at all. This is mainly because other than the very first two humans to walk the planet, no man in history has ever claimed to lay eyes on, yet alone walk into what is known as The Garden Of God. However, what many have failed to do is take a deep look at what the bible truly says of the mystery of this Garden and it’s significance for the world today. Does it still exist today? If So where is it’s geographical location? How can man return to it? Through a complete biblical and scriptural analysis, these questions will be answered and we will have a better understanding of just how magnificent the Garden Of Eden really was.

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.(Gen 1:1) The bible begins with creation, a progression of all things seen in the world today. In the span of 6 literal 24 hour days were all things made, from light, to heavenly constellations, to earth and even angelic beings. Through inspiration of the Holy Spirit, Moses gives an in depth story of the origin of mankind and where the original “home” of humanity begins.

Gen 2:1 Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them.

2 And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made.

3 And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.

4 These are the generations of the heavens and of the earth when they were created, in the day that the Lord God made the earth and the heavens,

5 And every plant of the field before it was in the earth, and every herb of the field before it grew: for the Lord God had not caused it to rain upon the earth, and there was not a man to till the ground.

6 But there went up a mist from the earth, and watered the whole face of the ground.

7 And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

8 And the Lord God planted a garden eastward in Eden; and there he put the man whom he had formed.

Adam was different from all mankind in the sense that he is the only human in history that God directly breathed life into. This does not mean all spiritual life source ultimately does not come from God, for even the book of Job states:The Spirit of God hath made me, and the breath of the Almighty hath given me life.(Job 33:4) From then on, every other man begotten was birthed with the spiritual genetic inheritance of Adam and not God. This is confirmed when we contrast the fact that Adam was made in God’s image but Adam himself bore children in his own image and likeness. This is an important element to know as we dive into the “birthing home” of mankind. Because Adam was breathed directly into by God, his first nature was that of a glorified un-corrupted being.

Adam was formed in the image of God, sinless and perfect in all of his ways, for when God finished His work, He claimed it was good.(Gen 1:31) In like manner, just as Adam was formed uniquely and supernaturally perfect, the garden of Eden bore the same conditions. When God formed earth, He filled it with many waters, rivers and gardens. However, out of all gardens of the earth, there is only one garden in the entire bible that is continuously labeled the “Garden Of God.”

Ezekiel 31:9 I have made him fair by the multitude of his branches: so that all the trees of Eden, that were in the garden of God, envied him.

This unique title given to one specific place, should give a strong hint that there was something uniquely divine and supernatural about this particular garden. Not Only is it called the Garden Of God, but it is also the only garden in the bible that says God directly planted Himself with His own hands.

Gen 2:7 And the LORD God planted a garden eastward in Eden; and there he put the man whom he had formed.

Knowing this, then it is no coincidence that the garden of Eden is the beginning destination of a sinless perfect humanity. The beauty and unique perfect details of the garden of Eden has many trying to search answers on if the garden really existed or is it just a bunch a fables. Well, the answer is pretty simple. When we look at a simple biblical explanation, the conclusion becomes clear that not only was the garden of Eden a literal destination on earth, but is was also in fact Heaven itself! Yes, the garden is the first and only destination in any time period where you can literally use the phrase “Heaven on earth. ” Knowing this, it becomes obvious why no one has found it, that is simply because this 100% supernatural garden will not be found again, at least not in “this lifetime”…..Scripture will testify of this conclusion and provide all the answers most are wondering concerning the uncovering and re-establishment of this sacred place.

Spiritual Garden for Spiritual Beings

The first point to be made if we are to understand the garden of Eden is to know, God personally forming this garden made it especially different from all others. So, what was that difference? The difference was that this Garden was a heavenly/spiritual garden reserved ONLY for spiritual beings. In the same way that no sinful flesh can live in heaven as a home, in like manner no sinful flesh could live in God’s garden.(clue number 1 that the garden and heaven was one in the same). This is observed by many ways in scripture, one of them being God Himself dwelt in the garden along with Adam and Eve. Gen 3:8 And they heard the voice of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day….. There is another verse that has gone unnoticed by many scholars regarding the garden and its supernatural influence. There is much about Satan regarding his unnoticed role in the garden of Eden……When reading the Bible many will notice what I call double references, where God is speaking about one person, thing or event but is also esoterically speaking of another. For example, This is one verse that many scholars have recognized as referencing Satan in his pre-fallen state, even though it’s literal reading is addressed to the king of Babylon.

Isa 14:4 That thou shalt take up this proverb against the king of babylon and say, How hath the oppressor ceased! the golden city ceased!…………12 How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!

So, even though a literal reading suggest God was speaking to a mortal man/king, scripture clearly indicates a shift from natural to spiritual being. For instance, there is a reference to a “fall from heaven”, and “son of the morning,” both descriptions that could not possibly be given to any human being. These type of double references we’re heavily in used prophesying of Jesus Christ in the old testament as well. Similarly there is another verse that uses the same concept and actually gives even greater insight to Satan in his heavenly state at creation.

Eze 28:12 Son of man, take up a lamentation upon the king of Tyrus, and say unto him, Thus saith the Lord God; Thou sealest up the sum, full of wisdom, and perfect in beauty.

13 Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God; every precious stone was thy covering, the sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: the workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that thou wast created.

14 Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set thee so: thou wast upon the holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire.

15 Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee.

This time addressing the king of Tyrus, the scripture gives a detailed picture of someone who held high beauty, wisdom and perfection at creation. Again we see there is a clear indicator of a shift from earthly to heavenly being. The most blatant is that God labels him an anointed Cherub. A Cherub is a type of angelic being that sits directly next to the throne of God. Also, God describes him as being full of beauty and wisdom, something God would never say about an evil earthly ruler. On top of that this Cherub is covered in stones and jewelry parallel to a high priest. And last but not least the greatest indicator is Thou hast been in Eden, the garden of God. Clearly The king of Tyrus was never in the garden of Eden as this is being written centuries after the flood era. The main point we want to extract from this is that while describing Satan’s role in a perfected state serving God, God clearly tells us Satan’s original dwelling place was the garden of Eden even before Adam,(thou hast been in Eden, the garden of God) which brings us back my original point that The garden of God was made for the habitation of only non corrupted Heavenly beings.(animals had their place as well)Not only did Satan have access to this garden but there was an entire heirarchy of angelic host who roamed the garden of Eden as well.

And it came to pass in the eleventh year, in the third month, in the first day of the month, that the word of the Lord came unto me, saying,

2 Son of man, speak unto Pharaoh king of Egypt, and to his multitude; Whom art thou like in thy greatness?

3 Behold, the Assyrian was a cedar in Lebanon with fair branches, and with a shadowing shroud, and of an high stature; and his top was among the thick boughs.

4 The waters made him great, the deep set him up on high with her rivers running round about his plants, and sent her little rivers unto all the trees of the field.

5 Therefore his height was exalted above all the trees of the field, and his boughs were multiplied, and his branches became long because of the multitude of waters, when he shot forth.

6 All the fowls of heaven made their nests in his boughs, and under his branches did all the beasts of the field bring forth their young, and under his shadow dwelt all great nations.

7 Thus was he fair in his greatness, in the length of his branches: for his root was by great waters.

8 The cedars in the garden of God could not hide him: the fir trees were not like his boughs, and the chestnut trees were not like his branches; nor any tree in the garden of God was like unto him in his beauty.

9 I have made him fair by the multitude of his branches: so that all the trees of Eden, that were in the garden of God, envied him.

10 Therefore thus saith the Lord God; Because thou hast lifted up thyself in height, and he hath shot up his top among the thick boughs, and his heart is lifted up in his height;

While I admit these passages are not easily understood and requires quite a bit of study to understand, the Bible definitely speaks of an angelic king who had limited authority and dominion over the area. Notice just like the previous verses, the power of this ruler had a lot to do with his “beauty.” So great was his beauty and stature that “all the other trees(angels) in Eden, the garden of God envied him.” It would require an entire article in itself to fully dissect these mysterious passages but nevertheless the Bible is clear that Eden operated a lot in the realm of the supernatural. Satan was banished from living in the garden after his fall however still had temporary access in the same way he has temporary access to the throne of God even though he was kicked out of heaven. What’s interesting to note, one text describes Satan as falling from heaven, yet another states that while perfect, his original dwelling was the garden of Eden, how can he be kicked out of heaven if he main dwelling was the garden?(Clue number 2 that Eden and Heaven was in fact one in the same) Satan was allowed to interact with Eve without any fear because they were obviously used to interacting with the heavenly realm beings on a daily basis, as opposed to the complete paralysis and fear that comes over men who later meet angels. As a matter of fact, Satan was even standing right next to Adam and Eve to receive their punishment, there was a clear open interaction with the heavenly in the garden of Eden. If that isn’t clear enough, The Lord ordered Cherubim to guard the garden that no man may enter it.

Gen 3:24 So he drove out the man; and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubims, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life.

(the ark) Whats interesting to note, is that no where else in the entire bible does God place Cherubim at a post on earth. Why is that significant? Because scripture tells us that Cherubs belong in the “heavens” directly next to the throne of God. When giving instructions to build the ark of the covenant, God gives specific instruction to create golden figures of Cherubs to place on opposite sides of the “mercy seat,” which ultimately represented heaven.

Ex 28:17 And thou shalt make a mercy seat of pure gold: two cubits and a half shall be the length thereof, and a cubit and a half the breadth thereof.

18 And thou shalt make two cherubims of gold, of beaten work shalt thou make them, in the two ends of the mercy seat.

19 And make one cherub on the one end, and the other cherub on the other end: even of the mercy seat shall ye make the cherubims on the two ends thereof.

20 And the cherubims shall stretch forth their wings on high, covering the mercy seat with their wings, and their faces shall look one to another; toward the mercy seat shall the faces of the cherubims be.

So why in this lone instance were they placed in the garden and no where else in scripture had a post on earth?(You guessed it, clue number 3 that the garden and Heaven was actually one in the same) Angelic beings(cherubim) leaving their designation in heaven to be placed on 24 hour watch of the garden further testifies of the spiritual nature and significance of this garden.

Sin Cannot Inherit the Garden of God

Satan, angels, Adam and Eve were all allowed to live in the garden of Eden while they were full of divine glory. All reflected God as a perfected creation and God blowing His spirit directly on Man. The Bible let’s us know that Satan was the first to fall(by the time we get to Adam and Eve, Satan is already evil) although it is hard to pin point exactly how much time had lapsed between his fall and the creation of man. However just as Satan was forced to give up the keys to the garden so was Adam when Satan tricked Eve into sinful rebellion thus letting go of that incorruptible glory that once covered their entire being. Satan already having lost his position in heaven started a revolt first with thousands of angels, next with human kind. Satan deceived Eve into thinking God was hiding some type of spiritual knowledge from them and through disobeying the clear command of God Adam and Eve brought sin upon themselves and into the world. The Consequence? Death and separation from a close walk with God ie. the banishment from the garden of God.(banishment from the garden was symbolic for banishment from Heaven, where God walks freely with the saints). The sins of Adam and Eve brought consequences to both Adam Eve and Satan. The banishment from the garden symbolically represented the banishment from Heaven. This idea is clearly demonstrated by God’s reasoning for the removal…….. “lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever”(Gen 3:22) The sole purpose for removing Adam and Eve from the garden was so they would not eat of the tree of life. The tree of life, a divine spiritual tree representing eternity and immortality with God, is never seen again until man is re-united with God in HEAVEN(clue number 4 that the garden and Heaven were one in the same)* If that isn’t proof enough, one of the greatest evidences that banishment from the garden represented banishment from heaven, God specifically compares the restoration of Israel to the times of living in the Garden of Eden. Prophesy speaks of a time when Israel will be restored and God will bring them into ultimate rest and joy. We know this is done only at the second coming of Jesus Christ, and yet whatever was lost during the centuries of forsaking their savior will one day be returned in a way likened to the beauties of the garden of Eden.

Isa 51:3 For the Lord shall comfort Zion: he will comfort all her waste places ; and he will make her wilderness like Eden, and her desert like the garden of the Lord; joy and gladness shall be found therin, thanksgiving, and the voice of melody.

Where is the garden located today?

So if it really did exist, where is the garden of Eden’s location today? The bible gives no concrete explanation as to where Edens exact destination was or is today. However, many seeming holes can be filled when enough study and scriptural comparison is given. What we find is that scripture gives us a ton of clues that the garden regardless of where it used to be, is no longer on planet earth. One major indication of this is the tree of life that was planted in the garden. In the beginning we see God setting up cherubs to guard the tree of life, yet the bible clearly states that the tree of life is stored in heaven for all saints to freely eat of. So that leaves the question, at what point in history did God transport the tree of life from the garden of Eden to Heaven? And if the tree is in Heaven for the saints, why did God place Cherubs in the garden to protect the tree from man in the first place? In order to understand this it is important to know that even though the tree of life was in the garden, Adam NEVER ate of the tree of life. The tree clearly represented immortality with God forever or eternal life, and Adam was given access to it yet prohibited from eating of it until mans work was complete. This is clearly described in numerous scripture verses concerning the tree of life.

Rev 2:7 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God.

Rev 22:14 Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.

There was ALWAYS a clear precedent before one could eat of the tree of life and it was no different in the garden of Eden. The right to immortality and eternity with God depends on one’s commitment to freely chose the Love of God by a life of continual faith and obedience. Adam was given a choice to live and obey God’s instruction to care for and replenish the earth or go after his own selfish desires. Adam chose the latter hence, never completed his God given course, thus not given the right to eat of the tree of life. This tree that was once in the garden is now in the heavens which means the garden is no longer the holding ground for it because it is no longer in existence. (I believe clear context tells us the garden was destroyed in the old world by the flood) Another Reason that the garden can’t possibly be on earth is the simple fact that the bible NEVER mentions any man finding or even seeing the garden of Eden, not even the children of Adam, who certainly would have been curious to take a peak. This is clearly because no man COULD see this garden or it’s covering angels save those who are un-corrupted, which is no man until we get to heaven. It is a spiritual garden that was on earth, normal eyes could not see it, the same way hell is under the earth but no amount of digging will allow man to see it because it is spiritual.

Numbers16: 30 But if the Lord make a new thing, and the earth open her mouth, and swallow them up, with all that appertain unto them, and they go down quick into the pit; then ye shall understand that these men have provoked the Lord.

31 And it came to pass, as he had made an end of speaking all these words, that the ground clave asunder that was under them:

32 And the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed them up, and their houses, and all the men that appertained unto Korah, and all their goods.

33 They, and all that appertained to them, went down alive into the pit, and the earth closed upon them: and they perished from among the congregation.

In an account of the rebellion of Korah, Korah and his sinful cohorts were literally swallowed alive into hell. The earth opened its mouth and sucked them down to the pit with their weapons still on them. More verses demonstrate that hell is literally underneath the earth yet, we cannot see it. That is how the garden of Eden was to the mere man once Adam fell, only visible to the spiritual eye. Lastly, the final clue to why the garden is not on earth is because the bible clearly describes a time in which we will RETURN to a much better version of that garden. Yes, there will be a return to that beautiful paradise but only after the full will of God is complete. Although the actual garden of Eden is no more, there will soon come a more perfect version of that garden, the garden 2.0 if you will.

Return To the Garden/Paradise

The earth before sin entered was perfect and represented God’s intent for all living things. Soon after sin there quickly came a gradual progression of sickness, death and corruption. The earth pre-flood was a very supernatural place. Though the entire earth was good, the garden of Eden acted as a central meeting point for the heavenly body. The garden itself served as a bridge between the physical and divine. Though man ruined this privilege, through the mercy of Jesus Christ, God lays out a future in which we will return to the days of paradise when earth once again becomes divinely bridged to the heavens. The new earth will be just that.

New Earth

When reading of future prophetic events leading up to the second coming of Christ, scripture outlines a time that there will be a literal renewal in creation, this includes the heaven and the earth. New creation starts with a new era time period of 1000 years in which there is unprecedented peace upon the earth with Christ literally ruling as king from Jerusalem. This continues until the fullness after the millenial period when all are judged and moved into eternity forever. Although this marks the beginning of the new Eden, it will not be fully realized until after the 1000 year reign.

Rev 20:4 And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.

This is also, something every believer is to look forward to however, whats even more interesting is the distinct and CLEAR parallels between the new creation period and the garden of Eden.

Man Lies With Beast

In the beginning, man had un-corrupted relationship with the beast of the field. There was no killing and man was able to walk freely with even the most vicious of animals such as lions, bears etc. While that is not the case today, concerning the second coming of Christ here is clearly a prophesied return to this peaceful state of man and beast in the field.

Isa 11:6 The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them.

7 And the cow and the bear shall feed; their young ones shall lie down together: and the lion shall eat straw like the ox.

8 And the sucking child shall play on the hole of the asp, and the weaned child shall put his hand on the cockatrice’ den.

9 They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain: for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea.

10 And in that day there shall be a root of Jesse, which shall stand for an ensign of the people; to it shall the Gentiles seek: and his rest shall be glorious.

Just as the days of old, a major transformation will take place in nature itself. Animals will lose there predatory appetite and evolve an appetite fit for the safety of mankind and the entire animal kingdom. Notice how in this new kingdom the wolf dwells with the lamb and the lion and calf will dwell together in peace. This interaction is clearly a dire situation at this current point in history but that will no longer be the case. Finally we see the children also interacting with wild vipers and cobras indicating that not only will animals enjoy each others company but also will humans. This is the exactly how the garden of Eden was in the very beginning.

man walks with God

Man Comes Into Full Old Age

17 For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth: and the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind.

18 But be ye glad and rejoice for ever in that which I create: for, behold, I create Jerusalem a rejoicing, and her people a joy.

19 And I will rejoice in Jerusalem, and joy in my people: and the voice of weeping shall be no more heard in her, nor the voice of crying.

20 There shall be no more thence an infant of days, nor an old man that hath not filled his days: for the child shall die an hundred years old; but the sinner being an hundred years old shall be accursed.

21 And they shall build houses, and inhabit them; and they shall plant vineyards, and eat the fruit of them.

22 They shall not build, and another inhabit; they shall not plant, and another eat: for as the days of a tree are the days of my people, and mine elect shall long enjoy the work of their hands.

Here again prophesying of a new age when heaven and earth are made new, there is much detail of the bliss of this golden age upon the earth. Much of the same is said of the way animal interaction is transformed to in this new age. However even more fascinating is the life span of humanity(those that aren’t transfigured). I have always wondered what made those men of old live to be so old but we today are lucky to see 80 years. Well, the natural balance undergoes a dramatic shift and the world is returned to its “fresher” state. the bible states there will be no more an old man that has not lived out his days, or an infant of days, signaling that if anyone dies prematurely it will actually be an isolated incident. The child shall die an hundred years old is a clear indication that 100 years old in this new age is actually considered being a child. God then says the days of a tree are the days of my people. We know that trees are known for living hundreds of years before dying off. Whatever was in the air and ecosystem that made Adam, Noah, Abraham etc. live to be 700+ years of age, will revert back and even becomes much better.

No Guilt Or Shame

When man walked with God in the garden, there was no shame or guilt. This was outwardly displayed by the fact that Adam and Eve were naked. The glory of God was their covering and there was no need to be ashamed with perfected garments of glory. This fact can be found in other instances of the bible as well.

Exo 34:29-30/KJV And it came to pass, when Moses came down from mount Sinai with the two tables of testimony in Moses’ hand, when he came down from the mount, that Moses wist not that the skin of his face shone while he talked with him.30 And when Aaron and all the children of Israel saw Moses, behold, the skin of his face shone; and they were afraid to come nigh him.

When Moses left his Divine encounter with God on the mountain he came down noticeably different than we he went up. Moses only talked with God for a little while and the glory of God covered Moses to the point men were blinded by his brightness. So Imagine dwelling with God for as long as Adam did, he and Eve’s body had to have been full of the brightness of God as a covering. Only through sin was man ashamed to stand before God in his present condition. Afterwards, nakedness became a universal sign of sin and shame…Rev 16:15 Behold, I come as a theif. Blessed is he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame. However, under the new covenant, we receive a new covering in the glory of God, this covering is called the covering or clothing of Christ. Gal 3:27 For all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. In the new Eden, Jesus Christ personally covers us in His own glory the same way that Adam was in the beginning, only this time it becomes a perfected covering that cannot be blotted, stained or lost.

Heaven And Earth Becomes One

Eph 1:10 That in the dispenation of the fulness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in Heaven, and which ae on earth; even him

Paul speaks of a fullness of time(when all the mysteries of God are complete at the final coming of Christ), when all things in heaven and on earth are united as one. We have already went over the amazing interaction between the heavenly realm and earth in the garden of Eden and in the world in total before the flood. From it, we concluded that Eden and Heaven was in fact one in the same, in the sense that although the garden of Eden was a literal place on planet earth, the garden acted as the bridge between the natural and spiritual realm with its many divine qualities. This new earth or “new Eden” if you will, becomes the perfected Eden in which heaven and Earth are once again united as one where humanity dwells with God forever in eternity.

And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.

2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.

3 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.

In a vision of man finally entering into eternity, right after John witnesses new heaven and new earth notice what he says: And I John saw the holy city, New Jeruselum, coming down from God out of heaven….John sees this new city to be inhabited by uncorrupted man for eternity but the important thing to note is John sees this new dwelling descending out of heaven to earth. This is the first clear poetic indication of a unified heaven and earth in the future. Continuing the next verse we read, “and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them.” God himself will dwell with the saints in this new city the same way he dwelt with Adam in the garden. God is literally ruling from earth(New Jerusalem) and Heaven at the same time. The bible even states that it is Christ himself that is providing the light source on this new earth replacing the sun. Also, there will also be love sacrifices and worship being done directly at the feet of Jesus Christ. How is this so? Because Heaven and Earth will be one unified supernatural system in which all angelic beings, and humans bow down directly before the king. In our glorified bodies we will have access to the heavens and the earth at the same time in the exact same way that the angels do now.(verse)This is the new Paradise(garden of eden).

Tree Of Life The final indicator of a new Eden is the return of the Tree of Life to Man. This is one of the most beautiful displays of God’s mercy and forgiveness. Having given a chance for man to partake in the tree of life in the begining, man chose himself instead. After the saving grace of Jesus Christ and ultimate defeat of Satan, man is given another opportunity to chose God as the ultimate savior. Only, this time, we will be fully glorified with Christ and able to make the choice out of full unionship. Just as God placed the tree in the middle of the garden, God again places the tree in the very middle of the new city, suggesting that this is the intended purpose when he made the garden, but now is perfected. Rev 22:1-2/KJVAnd he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb.2 In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations. Similarly to the garden this new Eden also has rivers of water, angelic beings roaming the streets and God walking with man in holy communion.

The garden of Eden is indeed a mystery to behold. The beauty, peace and perfection of it has caused many to yearn for a time of re-entry. Adam gave up our perfect home but do not mourn long. While the garden of God may not exist here on earth anymore, those who have put their faith in Jesus Christ will one day have their very own key card to a new and improved paradise. Then one day we will finally know just how good that fruit taste on the tree of life.
